
About Messer PAC
Having a strong and growing political action committee (PAC) helps Messer North America shape decisions that affect our business, our employees, customers, and communities. The Messer PAC supports Messer’s overall public affairs strategy as a valuable tool to build and maintain relationships with elected officials and share our point of view to protect and grow our business. Federal law permits Messer North America to operate a PAC funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of eligible employees. Contributions to Messer PAC directly support candidates who understand key issues facing our company and the industries we serve.
The purpose of the Messer PAC is to promote and facilitate lawful, permissible involvement in the political process by its U.S. members and the employees of Messer North America, Inc. The PAC encourages its members and Messer North America employees to maintain an awareness of legislative and political issues and candidates that affect the company.
Messer PAC is committed to providing campaign contributions to federal and state candidates and committees. Through contributions from the PAC, Messer gains opportunities to advocate for policies that enable us to remain a leading-edge technical expert in our field, promote innovation, and serve the interests of our employees, partners, and customers.

Legal Restrictions
Messer PAC is regulated by the Federal Election Commission (FEC) www.fec.gov.
The PAC is a separate segregated fund (SSF) whose funding is separate from the corporate treasury. It is illegal for any corporation to make a direct contribution to any candidate or committee. The PAC is entirely funded by the voluntary contributions of eligible employees.
Receipts and disbursements from the PAC are not comingled with any of the company’s assets. As a connected organization, Messer North America pays for the administrative cost associated with operating the PAC.
The decisions and operations of the PAC are guided by the PAC Management Steering Committee and are not influenced by direction from firm leadership. The PAC’s operations will be driven by actions passed by the board, and neither the staff nor committee members will take direction from individuals unaffiliated with the PAC.

Restricted Class
To be eligible to contribute to the Messer PAC, an employees must be a Unites States Citizen or Permanent U.S. Resident with a green card. Messer PAC may legally solicit voluntary contributions from the restricted class at any time. The restricted class of a corporation consists of:
- The corporation’s executive and administrative personnel
- The stockholders; and
- The families (i.e., immediate household residents) of the above two groups
